This week, Dan chats with Oregon-based band Portugal. The Man. A band known for using their platform for good, they have engaged in extensive activism and philanthropy throughout the course of their career. They have helped raise $1 Million for instruments in United States schools, released limited vinyl runs as awareness for the critically endangered Sumatran Tiger and advocated for Indigenous rights and funding through their PTM Foundation. Just to name a few.
Forming in 2004, they have gone on to release 8 studio albums, toured the world and are regular festival headliners. Their platinum-certified, smash hit “Feel It Still” won “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards in 2018 and is still a radio-playlist favourite to this day.

This week sees Dan talking to the Australian indie-pop duo, Client Liaison. Made up of vocalist Monte Morgan, and keyboardist and producer Harvey Miller, the pair first came to prominence in 2012 after the release of their first music video "End of the Earth", and have gone on to release a self-titled EP in 2014, and studio album Diplomatic Immunity in 2016. Their second studio album, Divine Intervention was released on 1 October 2021.
Influenced by late '80s and early '90s electronic and house music, the pair produces a style of music described by them as "faux-fi", and incorporate a similar 1980s Australian theme into their personas.
As part of this image, the pair draw a wide range of Australian references into their performances and music videos, and often make reference to brands such Ansett, Foster's, and Diners Club, and have named Tina Arena and John Farnham as being amongst the many influences on their music.

He is the leader of the 2x Grammy Award-winning hip-hop collective, Arrested Development. He and the group have been a ground-breaking force in Hip-hop culture since 91. Their debut album, “3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life of...” sold over 6 million albums, earned them two Grammy awards for Best New Artist and Best Rap Single (Tennessee), 2 MTV awards, (People every day), a Soul Train Music Award, and the coveted NAACP Image Award. Rolling Stone magazine named them Band of The Year, while VH-1 named them one of the greatest Hip-hop artists of all time
Speech has continued to be a trailblazer with the group and as a solo artist sharing stages with Nelson Mandela, Minister Louis Farrakhan, and Barack Obama; he is the categorical definition of legendary.

This week sees Dan signing out Series Three chatting to Lars Liliengren, the Senior Production Manager & Head of Program Production at Denmark’s Roskilde Festival.
Lars was the Head of Production at the booking agency, Copenhagen Music, and toured and worked with many of the bigger Danish artists, including Lukas Graham and Alphabeat.
Since 2014 he has been at Roskilde Festival and has been the lead on the full program production which includes everything from headliners at the festival’s Main Stage, the Orange Stage to any smaller art production coming in on-site.

This week Dan speaks with the outstandingly talented, Shuang Zou. Born in Wuhan, she spent her formative career years in England before joining the Beijing Music Festival as Associate Program Director in 2016. She has initiated the New Wave Program with immersive, site-specific opera and music-theatre productions. She has been instrumental in building collaborations between China and the West in recent years.
Shuang Zou is classically trained and has a keen interest in all aspects of the arts, having delved into film and music. Her career accomplishments are extensive having worked in numerous countries and bringing that collaboration of cultures together in her work with Beijing Music Festival. Dan talks to Shuang about the synergy that music brings into communities and her excitement about the future prospects of the industry

Earl “Paul” Douglas is a Jamaican Grammy winning drummer and percussionist, best known for his work with Toots and the Maytals. His career spans more than five decades as one of reggae's most recorded drummers. Douglas has worked with artists including Bob Marley and the Wailers, Bonnie Raitt, and Eric Gale. He has also toured with artists including The Rolling Stones, Willie Nelson, Dave Matthews Band, The Who, Eagles and Sheryl Crow
